What happens if my vehicle breaks down?

Can I let someone else drive a vehicle that I rent?

Additional drivers can be added at no charge. Just bring in or send in a copy of their license so they can be added to the contract. Please note: your supplied insurance will still be primary.

What are your rental periods?

City Rent A Truck offers daily, weekly, and monthly rental periods, as well as long term lease.

Do late-return fees apply?

+

We allow a 3-hour grace period on all of our truck rental rates and a 59-minute grace period on all of our insurance/waiver rates. Anything beyond the allowed grace period will be charged another day.

What happens if I don't return my truck on the designated return date?

Please notify City Rent A Truck of your request and in most cases, we will extend the agreement. Additional charges may apply.

Do you have after hours drop?

All locations are equipped with an after hours key drop. Just leave the vehicle on the lot, drop the keys in the key drop, and a representative will email the invoice to you the following business day.

Do you offer insurance?

We offer a loss damage waiver that covers physical damage up to full loss of our vehicle after a $1,000 out of pocket maximum. <br /> The damager waiver excludes the following: Contaminated fuel, def, or engine systems, roof damage, DOT infractions, violations of the law, and unauthorized drivers.

Do you deliver vehicles?

Yes, City Rent a Truck offers nationwide delivery on monthly rentals! We can deliver vehicles straight to your job site, and pick them up when you are done!

What are the requirements to rent a vehicle?

A valid driver's license, credit card through a major bank, and proof of full coverage insurance!

Do you allow for off-road use?

City Rent A Truck welcomes off-road use with our vehicles.

Do I need a commercial driver's license (CDL) to operate your larger trucks?

If the vehicle you are renting is 26,000 lbs GVWR or below they will not require a CDL to drive. Majority of our fleet will be 26,000 GVWR or under excluding our 16 and 18 yard dump trucks!<br /> <br />

How old do I need to be to rent a vehicle from City Rent A Truck?

Light-duty trucks and vans: minimum age 21 years. Medium to heavy-duty trucks and all passenger vans: minimum age 25 years.

Is a credit card needed to hold my reservation?

A $100 deposit is taken on all passenger van reservations. On all other rentals, a card isn't required to hold a vehicle. However, City Rent A Truck reserves the right to request a deposit.

Do you charge by calendar days or 24 hour days?

24-hour rental periods. In many cases this can save our customers a whole day of rental.

What is your fuel policy?

The customer will be charged for fuel if not replaced to the level it was sent out at. The fee varies with the current market rate of fuel.

What to do in the event of an accident.

Emergencies: Call 911. Non-Emergency: Call the police department and get a police report number. Exchange Info: Get a plate number, as well as a copy of driver’s licenses, insurance, and contact info for all parties involved. Make sure you use your own insurance card, not City Rent a Truck’s. Document Damages: Get detailed pictures of all damages from multiple angles. Call a Rep: Call City Rent a Truck to let us know what happened. We will let you know the next steps. Insurance: All parties involved need to contact their respective insurance companies to file a claim. Need a Tow? Call roadside assistance if you need a tow. They will take the vehicle to the nearest dealer.

What is your toll policy?

Customers are responsible for payment of tolls. If a customer chooses to go through the fast lane they will be charged for the total cost of the toll plus a $15 admin fee for each infraction.

Do you offer any up-fits on your rental vehicles?

Yes! We can add custom up-fits and accessories to any vehicle in our fleet to meet your specific needs!

Do you charge for regular wear and tear?

No. We expect our trucks to be put to work on the toughest job sites, that's what they were made for, and that's why we won't nickel and dime you for normal wear and tear on our vehicles!
